Salesa - How To Deploy On Whatsapp And Text Messaging

If you have a list of customers or prospects you want to approach on Whatsapp and via text messaging with your bot, then you should try deploying your bot on Whatsapp and text messaging platforms. Read on to learn how you can do this.

Head over to the CRM page in your dashboard. You should find the buttons 'Add new record', 'Add Twilio Connections' and 'Save Changes'. Clicking on 'Add new record' will create a row to add details about your customer such as their name, email, contact number etc.

Even if you don't want to approach them on Whatsapp or through text messaging anytime soon, this is an excellent way to keep track of your customers and to later approach them.

After you enter their contact information, click on 'Save Changes'. You can assign a bot and a training profile and the bot will use the given training profile to approach the customer.

But, wait. You will not be able to deploy the bot right away as you have not given the bot a phone number. You can use Twilio to get phone numbers that can be used to communicate using the internet. You can get started for free and you even get a $ 10 - $ 20 credit when you signup. GO to Twilio and get yourself a phone number for free if you haven't already.

Once you have the phone number ready, read on.

Click on 'Add Twilio Connections' and then click on 'Add New Twilio Number'. You can only assign one Twilio number to a training profile. Select your bot, select the training profile you want to connect to this phone number and then add the Twilio phone number, your Twilio Account SID and the Twilio auth token (we cannot send messages on your behalf without these details).

In your Twilio console, you need to set the webhook to https://salesa.org/api/messaging/listen/ to allow Salesa to get the customer replies. A webhook is quite simple to understand, even if you have never heard of it before. When a human user replies to a message sent by the bot, it first goes to Twilio. By providing a webhook, we are asking Twilio to forward that message on to us so that we can reply back to the customer based on what they said.

Click on 'Save Changes' and go back to the CRM. You should now be able to deploy your bot.

Once you deploy the bot, it will automatically approach the contact and initiate and continue a conversation with them according to the training you've given.

We suggest that you test out your training set thoroughly by having a small amount of people talk to your bot and monitor it's performance and improve it if you feel the need. Once you are satisfied that you've trained it well enough, you can deploy your bot to as big an an audience as you can and see it providing customer support, sell your products and services, or do whatever it is that you trained it to do.
